Royal Marine Commando Adam Robert Brown was born in Yateley, Hampshire, England UK on 25th February 1985. On the 1st August 2010 he was tragically killed in action whilst serving in Afghanistan, he was just 25 years old.
One of Adam's dreams was to own a beach hut at Mudeford near Christchurch where he spent many a childhood holiday . In his words " It is a very special place ".We have now started a fundraising campaign to purchase a beach hut so that we can fulfill his dream ".Adam's Hoofing Hut " will be an extraordinary memorial to an extraordinary young man and will be used by Marines families and friends in need of a quiet place to relax and reflect. Adam enriched the lives of those he came in contact with and we know this hut will do the same. We are truly grateful for any donations and support you can give and thereby helping us make Adam's dream become a reality. If you would like to take part in an event to raise funds please do contact Julia for a sponsorship form. julia@adamshoofinghut.com

5th - 29th May 2011 - Mike & James's Canoe Trip

Mike Crankshaw (Adam's Uncle) & James Brown (one of Adam's younger twin brothers) have paddled a Canadian canoe the length of the Stour (well as far as you can from West Stour).
They had to walk the first 9-10 miles from Stourhead to Ecliffe, towing the canoes behind them.
Then paddled the River Stour to the Black house at the entrance to Christchurch harbour where the Stour meets the sea. They are asking family and friends to sponsor them. It is a rough distance of 64 miles of very twisting and reed covered river. They started on the 25th of May and will finished on Sunday 29th of May. Where they were met by Adam's wife, Amy, his Mum & Dad, Robert and Jenny and representatives from the Royal Marines based at Poole in two 'Ribs'.

Thanks to everyone who came to Adams Gucci Garlour at the Crown & Cushion. Special thanks to Will & Julie who laid on such a marvelous evening and to Gaz for being the best auctioneer possible!! When Amy & Jenny have finished adding up we will post the total raised.

The Commando Curry Night was held at Bridges Coffee and Dining in Fordingbridge on Thursday 22nd November and raised an incredible £1111 for the fund. The proprietor of the Raj of India, Mr Ullah, prepared the Curries with ingredients provided by Colin Coley, proprietor of Bridges. Thank you to all involved.

My name is Jordan Clement. On 5th July 2011 I took part in the 3 Peaks Challenge in order to raise money for my two chosen charities. I completed the Challenge in  23 hours 37 minutes. Raising £800.00. I am a student at Yateley Sixth Form College who plays rugby on a regular basis as well as attending the gym a couple of times a week.
The National Three Peaks Challenge is a mountain-endurance challenge in Great Britain, with a history of over 40 years, in which participants attempt to climb the highest peaks of each of the island's three mountains within 24 hours, using motorised transport to travel between the mountains. This is one of the most difficult challenges in Great Britain known to this day. The reason I have chosen to raise money through this challenge is due to the fact that Adam Brown was well known as a member of the Royal Marines and this is a challenge recognised by the British forces.

Charities I am raising money for:

Adams Hoofing Hut
and
Bradley Unit Woking Hospital
The Bradley Unit is based in workings NHs run hospital. This is a specialised unit that focuses its research into neuro-rehabilitation but for those of us that only understand PLAIN English (me included) rehabilitation for stroke victims. They focus on helping those in need of speech therapy and general help recovering.
Although equipped with the best pieces of equipment they can afford the recent budget cuts have made it difficult to begin using some of the newest and most helpful technology
Although the Bradley Unit does not take donations of money they will take any equipment that can be provided. This means that with the money raised I will be purchasing pieces of equipment vital for the rehabilitation process and donating them directly to the hospital.

As I type Adam Batty from Fordingbridge is cycling from Munich to Venice in aid of the Hut, Heart and Cancer Charities. Do have a look at his Just Giving Page.

A massive thank you to Ellies Uncle Dave Clement, Ian Cox, Neil Morris and Nelly Dean who organised a raffle at Get Your Coils Out, an e-cigarette, vaping company. Various vendors and individuals donated vaping gear toward the draw. £400 has been paid into Amy's Just Giving Page! Please check it out for more info.
